Featured Artist: Faye Dorman ’26

By Faye Dorman ’26

Contributor Biography: Faye Dorman is a dual major in Communications and Economics from Mohnton, PA. She is an active member in Dance Club, and is a member of several academic societies on campus. In her free time, she likes to draw, paint, and write, usually while “watching” a new show or movie.

Short Description: For this assignment, students were tasked with answering the prompt; “Where am I in this story?” Dorman chose to interpret this prompt by creating a piece that not only represents how she was currently feeling but also features an image of herself. Using cut out watercolor swatches, Dorman depicts a universe of opportunities floating through space undiscovered, due to the fact that she is stuck at a bus stop that has long been abandoned. Dorman hopes to inspire a sense of wonder in the depiction of the expanse of the universe despite the duller undertones of the piece.

The following was created for ART 161: Collage

“Bus Stop” – collage piece made of acrylic paints, watercolor paper, ink, and colored pencils.
