Contributor Biography: Isabelle grew up in a military family that moved often and one of the few constants in her life was her fondness for the natural world. From a young age she was fascinated by the ocean and creatures within (with a special interest in sharks). She is working to further her education in the field of marine science in hopes of working with these incredible species.  

Description: A senior thesis detailing the effects of eating microplastics on whale sharks. This piece examines the sources and dangers of marine microplastics and why they pose a threat to marine organisms. Specifically, how and why whale sharks are susceptible to this microscopic threat.
